  BIOGRAPHY

Karen was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 17, 1954.
She discovered her creativity as a teenager in high school art class.

Her teacher encouraged her to continue with her unusual ideas.

She received her first Honorable Mention for Youth Painting at the Havre de Grace, Md. Art Show.

In the late 90's she also won the First Prize Blue Ribbon for her abstract oil paintings. The mayor bought three paintings from that collection for his private gallery.

She relocated to Florida and continues to sell her work.
Her favorite type of paint is oil. She began experimenting with different mediums and textures.
The flag collection is a unique combination of lottery tickets, coin wrappers, and tattered currency given to her to recycle the pieces into art.

She made a flag for the 911 tragedy for the bank that made posters of it to hang in their lobbies.
